    The course plan below is a sample plan for your major; it does not and should not replace meeting with your Academic Advisor to map out the best course plan that suits your individual academic goals and placement upon initial registration. Classes listed may not necessarily be offered during a particular term. Full descriptions and requirements for all ODU majors, programs and courses can be found in the ODU Catalog.

    • This plan is for students meeting the MTH 101 pre-requisite for CHM 209 
    • BIO 249 Medical Terminology (2 credits) can be taken for an elective in the Sophomore Fall semester. 
    • Option 1 - prepares students to enter the Advanced Placement Program (APP) at MCCN that is offered during the summer session before junior year.
      • Students spend the first two years at ODU
      • Remaining two years are completed at MCCN, who will award the degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing
       
    • Option 2 - prepares students to enter the Second Degree Accelerated Program (SDAP) at MCCN that is offered the spring semester of their senior year.
      • Students spend 3.5 years at ODU as a biology major in the pre-nursing track
      • Upon successful completion of all required courses, students will be awarded the Bachelor of Science degree from ODU
      • The remaining 3 semesters (spring, summer, fall) of work are completed at MCCN, who will award the degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
       
    • Option 3 - prepares students to enter the Second Degree Accelerated to Master’s Program (SDAP-M) at MCCN, offered the fall semester after their senior year.
      • Students spend 4 years at ODU as a biology major in the pre-nursing track
      • Upon successful completion of all required courses, students will be awarded the Bachelor of Science degree from ODU
      • Students enter MCCN in the fall semester and complete course work for 4 semesters, upon which, MCCN will award the degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing
      • During those 4 semesters, students also begin graduate courses toward a Master of Science in Nursing degree
