A rich experience awaits you at Ohio Dominican University. In fact, active involvement on campus and in the community beyond is central to the transformative ODU experience. There are so many ways to learn, grow, and simply have fun.
Many cultural, educational, and service activities take place around the ODU campus. Take in a thoughtful lecture by a faculty member one night, and a national comedian on stage the next. Or check out our immersion service opportunities and the annual volunteer fair. Relax in your residence hall, meet friends at the student center, or work out in the fitness center. Want a break from campus? Enjoy the renowned cultural, entertainment, and sports events happening around Columbus.
Students with a passion for sports will enjoy an array of athletic programs at Ohio Dominican. Our Panthers draw crowds and boost community spirit at our football and basketball games. You can also participate (or simply take pride) in our football, softball, baseball, and volleyball teams, as well as men’s and women’s teams in cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, basketball, and track and field. We compete at the NCAA Division II level.
The Bishop James A. Griffin Student Center is the central community space, or “living room,” of our campus. A bustling focal point for student activities outside the classroom, the center is a welcoming venue for informal gatherings, meetings, and studying. The Student Development Division is headquartered here, and its dedicated staff helps students discover their strengths, talents, and potential in many ways. Programs include student success initiatives, holistic activities, wellness programs, internships, and study abroad options.
The ODU Fitness Center offers aerobic equipment and free weights and is open daily. And our Wellness Center provides holistic and comprehensive care. We are committed to facilitating growth in all dimensions of wellness through counseling, health services, education, and programming.
Ohio Dominican also plans activities through Campus Ministry, which promotes spiritual enrichment and personal development. These opportunities promote dialogue, learning, and action among people of all faiths. In addition to the full range of Catholic experiences, ODU integrates both ecumenical and interreligious programming into the life of the university.
Living on campus at Ohio Dominican is the first step toward developing an independent, well-rounded, and meaningful life. Our five residence halls offer a variety of experiences from charming, historic buildings to modern structures, from traditional freshman dorms to themed housing.
Dining options vary from the flexible, all-you-can-eat meal plans at the campus dining hall to quick, tasty food selections in the Griffin Student Center or Panther Plaza.
Dozens of student organizations provide creative outlets after classes. The diverse possibilities include academic honor societies, social issue and multicultural groups, as well as religious, political, and service organizations. Everyone is welcome! Students develop their leadership skills, interact with their classmates, and play an active role in ODU and local communities.
