Service Opportunities

Here at Ohio Dominican, we strive to provide opportunities for personal growth and community enrichment through our service programs.  Service is one of the many ways we live out the call to preach the Good News of the Gospel to all that we encounter.  We also recognize that service is a great way to involve our community, regardless of age, race, or religious beliefs. Not only is service important for our own growth and development as a University, it is also impactful in the communities we serve, locally, nationally, and itnernationally.  Be sure to join us for one or all of our service opportunities and, if you don't see something that intrests you, don't hesitate to contact us and suggest new ideas!

• Trips On Tuesdays

  Help others around our community! Every Tuesday we will volunteer at a non-profit organization in our Columbus community from 4:00-6:00pm. Meet in the Campus Ministry Office in Griffin Center 278 at 3:50pm if you would like to help serve and have some fun! We've served at a variety of places including YWCA Family Center, Shepherd's Corner, Holy Family Soup Kitchen, Habitat ReStore, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Bethesda Retreat House, the Bishop Griffin Center and many more!

• Fun with the Sisters

  We love to go and visit the Sisters and Priests who are currently residing in Mohun Health Care Center. We visit, make crafts, hear fun stories, play bingo and wii and have a lot of fun. The Sisters really love to meet the students and its a great afternoon! If you've got the time, definitely come on by!

• Make a Difference Day

  Twice a year- once in the fall during national "Make a Difference Day" and then again in the spring- ODU visits our residential neighbors in the Teakwood community. We work on outdoor projects like raking leaves, planting flowers, and other beautification projects and we get to know our neighbors!

• Collection Drives

  Througout the year, we collect food, school supplies, clothing, and money for local and national non-profit organizations. Some of the organizations we work with are Catholic Relief Services with Operation Rice Bowl, The Salvation Army with the Angel Tree Drive, the Charles School with the School Supply Drive!
