  • Physician Assistant Early Admission Program

The demand for well-educated physician assistants continues to grow. Between 2008 and 2018, job opportunities for physician assistants will increase by 39 percent, according to CNNMoney.com.

What Does a Physician Assistant Do?

Physician assistants practice medicine under the direction of physicians. They are formally trained to examine patients, diagnose and treat injuries and illnesses, order and interpret lab tests, perform procedures, assist in surgery, provide patient education and counseling, and make rounds in hospitals and nursing homes. Physician assistants can also prescribe medications.
