Dominican Life of the Mind Lecture Series

St. DominicOhio Dominican's Life of the Mind Series provides occasions for the community to gather to reflect upon the ideas and events that shape our culture. Sponsored by the Center for Dominican Studies, the series features artists, musicians, intellectuals, and critics who contribute to the life of the mind.

The Life of the Mind Series is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Sansbury Hall and the Spangler Learning Center are on Ohio Dominican University's main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road, Columbus.

Featuring: Eileen Gannon, OP

Dominican Sister Eileen Gannon is the United Nations Representative of the Dominican Order in the United States. Sr. Eileen is also a member of the Sparkhill New York Dominican Congregation. Through her work in the UN, she represents the Dominican family whose members live and work in more than 100 countries throughout the world. She is also an educator, having taught at all levels of education as well as in educational administration and service learning.

Anthony Gittins is an author and Professor of Catholic Missiology at Catholic Theological Union. His research focuses on the dynamics of interculuration by using anthropological and theological lenses. His pastoral outreach includes Chicago’s disenfranchised and cultures from African to the Pacific. This event includes a book signing.

Dominican Sister Catherine Hilkert, OP is a prolific author and professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame. Mary Catherine specializes in contemporary systematic theology with particular interest in theological anthropology. She is immediate past President of the Catholic Theological Society of America.
