2002 Aquinas Convocation Speaker

A renowned national theologian will discuss the connection between academic theological
study and practical, personal spiritual practice at Ohio Dominican Universitys annual
celebration of the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas.
The Reverend James Bacik, pastor
of Corpus Christi University Parish in Toledo and author of several books on spirituality
and theology, will speak at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, in the Little Theater, Erskine
Hall.
The Most Reverend James A. Griffin, Bishop of Columbus, will celebrate Mass after the
lecture.
Rev. Bacik holds a Ph.D. from Oxford University and is perhaps best known for a series
of radio addresses on theology he delivered in the Toledo area from 1980 to 1993.
The Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas is Wednesday, January 30, 2002. The convocation and
lecture begin at 10 a.m. The mass follows at 11:30 a.m. in Christ the King Chapel,
Sansbury Hall.
