ODU Athletes at "Shocktoberfest"
October 18, 2002

Polaris Amphitheater has teamed up with a local university to help raise money for the school's athletic department.
Ohio Dominican University (ODU) athletes will work various positions for Three-C Body Shops Shocktoberfest at Polaris Amphitheater this fall. In return, Polaris Amphitheater will make a donation to the athletic department of the University.
This is the third year ODU has participated in some aspect of the Halloween event. For the athletes' work at Three-C Body Shops Shocktoberfest this year, the school is expected to receive about $7,000.
Additionally, donations from the public for various amusement activities are given to ODU's Athletic Department. For instance, guests can donate money at the chance to light up "Sparky," a dunk-tank like game that electrocutes a dummy when a bulls-eye is hit.
"It's really a win-win situation for Ohio Dominican and the amphitheater," said Polaris Amphitheater's Executive Director Tracy Tucker. "We get the working support we need to help make the event a success and ODU gets money to help support its athletic programs."
According to Ohio Dominican University Athletic Director Paul Page, the benefits are more than just financial. "Having the athletes together out there really builds a sense of team and feeling of oneness," said Page.
Three-C Body Shops Shocktoberfest features unlimited trips through three haunted houses, psychics, karaoke, amusement rides, a variety of haunted activities and more. Three-C Body Shops Shocktoberfest is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday now through Nov. 2.
