Mel Rozen's Work to be Featured in Wehrle Gallery

Mel Rozen will be featured in an exhibition entitled, "Garden of the Gods," in Ohio Dominican's Wehrle Gallery.

COLUMBUS, OH - The works of Mel Rozen will be featured in an exhibition entitled, "Garden of the Gods," in Ohio Dominican's Wehrle Gallery. The exhibition will begin February 9 and run through March 5, 2003. The public is welcome to join students, faculty and staff at an opening reception on Sunday, February 9 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Wehrle Gallery.

Professor Rozen is Director of Foundation Studies in the Division of Communication and Fine Art at Ohio Dominican University.

His newest works celebrate 30 years of teaching at Ohio Dominican. The show features a series of close-up views and architectural details such as masks and grotesques on capitals and arches, collected from photographs Professor Rozen has taken during his travels around the world. It is complemented by a series of paintings based on classical heads and figures from mythology.

"Garden of the Gods" refers to the Greek and Roman influences on the architecture and sculpture that Professor Rozen researched to create his paintings.

The Wehrle Gallery is located on the campus of Ohio Dominican University, 1216 Sunbury Road. Gallery hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. For more information, contact Dr. Janette Knowles at 614-251-4612.
