ODU Phone-A-Thon Breaks Record
December 10, 2003
COLUMBUS, OH - Ohio Dominican University's Fall 2003 Phonathon raised more than $43,000, the largest amount ever raised in an ODU Phonathon.
"Our success from the Fall 2003 Phonathon was due in part to our outstanding student callers," said Ashley Dudley, Ohio Domincan's Director of Annual Giving. "These students understand how important donations are in helping the university reach its goal of becoming a pre-eminent Catholic university. The Phonathon engages our community and encourages support."
Calling three nights a week for four weeks, 24 student callers earned 789 pledges, for a total of $43,130, surpassing their goal of $42,000. The average pledge was $54.66.
"Ohio Domincan's graduates and friends were very generous," Dudley said. "They understand the dynamic time we are experiencing and are excited about our plans for a bright future. They support our vision for the future and want to be a part of our growth."
Contributions to the Ohio Dominican fund are put to immediate use, thereby directly influencing today's students. The Ohio Dominican Fund supports equipment and facility endowment, community outreach to the university's urban neighborhood, faculty development and scholarships.
