Ohio Dominican University Appoints Board
of Trustees Members

COLUMBUS, OH - Ohio Dominican University has named six new members and reappointed
five members to its Board of Trustees.
Sr. Mary Jo Fox, O.P., Ph.D., Michael P. Kelty, Ph.D., Margaret Olsen, M.D.,
Jack Sandman and Margaret Corbett Sullivan have joined ODUs Board of
Trustees. Sr. Mary Hope Sieron, O.P. also returns to the board, having previously
served from 1989 to 1998. Galen Barnes, Sr. Kathleen Cannon, O.P., Ph.D., Sr. Christine
Cosgrove, O.P., Ph.D., James Gilmour and Michael Wagenbrenner have been reappointed to
the Board. ODU trustees serve three-year terms.
Sr. Mary Jo Fox graduated from the College of St. Mary of the Springs (now Ohio
Dominican University) with a bachelor's degree in Education. She returned to the college
and served as an associate professor and chair of the Theology Department., from 1977 to
1979. Prior to her teaching career, she earned a master's degree in Religious Studies from
Providence College and a Ph.D. in Theology from Fordham University. Most recently, Sr.
Mary Jo served as Director of the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program and an
adjunct professor of Theology at Albertus Magnus College. During her career, she worked
as an alcoholism counselor, religious education consultant, in parish and campus ministry,
and taught elementary and high school.
Michael Kelty, Ph.D. is Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President of The Scotts
Company. In that role, he is responsible for the company's research and development
efforts, supply chain, information services, strategic planning, and the Global Professional
business. After earning his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from The Ohio State University in
1977, Dr. Kelty joined Scotts to manage regulatory and environmental issues. He has held
several other positions within the company, including Director of Advanced Technology, Vice
President of Research and Development, Senior Vice President of Technology and Operations,
and Senior Vice President of the Professional Business Group. Dr. Kelty was named Executive
Vice President of Technology and Operations in 1999, and assumed his current post in May 2001.
Margaret Olsen, M.D. received a bachelor's degree in Biology from the College of
St. Mary of the Springs (now Ohio Dominican University) and went on to earn an M.D.
from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed a medical internship at
George Washington University and residency programs in dermatology at the University of
Maryland and UCLA/Wadsworth Veterans Hospital. Dr. Olsen is board certified by the American
Boards of Dermatology and Pathology. She has a private practice in Los Angeles. In addition
to her practice, she is the Chief of Dermatology at St. John's Hospital and Health Center;
a clinical attending physician at Wadsworth VA Hospital; and volunteer at Venice Family
Clinic. She is a featured speaker for the American Cancer Society's Skin Cancer Lecture series.
Jack Sandman is President and Chief Executive Officer of First Community Village,
Inc., a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community. Sandman has over 30 years'
health care experience in senior management and 20 years as President and CEO, directing
all aspects of business and management for St. Ann's Hospital. received a bachelor's degree
from Bellarmine College and an MBA from Xavier University. He has served on the boards of
trustees of Mount Carmel Health System, the Ohio Hospital Association, the American Hospital
Association, the Hospital Association of Central Ohio, Blue Cross of Central Ohio, the
Columbus Diocesan Retirement Center, the Metropolitan YMCA of Central Ohio, and United Way.
Sr. Mary Hope Sieron is an English teacher and administrative assistant at Bishop
Watterson High School. She received a bachelor's degree in English from Ohio Dominican
College and a master's degree in English from the University of Notre Dame. Sr. Mary
Hope has taught at St. Vincent Ferrer High School in New York City, St. Anthony School
in Steubenville, St. Albert the Great School in Pittsburgh, and Newark Catholic High
School and Blessed Sacrament School, both in Newark. She serves on the Advisory Council
of the Martin de Porres Center of the Congregation of St. Mary of the Springs.
Margaret Corbett Sullivan is President of Corbett Sullivan Advertising and Public
Relations. She is a former teacher with Columbus Public Schools. She graduated from St.
Mary of the Springs Academy and received a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Loyola
University, New Orleans, and a master's degree in Teaching Coursework from the
University of Pittsburgh. She also completed additional Teaching Certification
coursework at Ohio Dominican College and The Ohio State University, and graduate
coursework in Marketing at OSU. Sullivan has served on the boards of the Contemporary
American Theatre Company, the John Carroll University Business School, the Columbus
Catholic Foundation, Zivili Dance Company, the Advertising Federation and Marburn Academy.

university, the vision and leadership of the Board of Trustees continues to be instrumental
