Ohio Dominican Presents "A Funny Thing
Happened on the Way to the Forum"

COLUMBUS, OHIO-- Ohio Dominican University is pleased to announce its
upcoming performance of the hit musical comedy, A Funny Thing Happened on
the Way to the Forum. The performance will take place at 8:00 PM on Friday,
April 8 and Saturday, April 9 and again at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 10. All
performances will be in the Little Theatre located in Erskine Hall on the Ohio
Dominican main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road, Columbus. Tickets are $5 at the door,
with no advance sales.

The musical follows Pseudolus, a slave who sees an opportunity to win
his freedom when his master's son, Hero, falls for the beautiful Philia.
Hero promises to make Pseudolus a free man if he can find a way to bring
them together. Unfortunately, Philia is one of the courtesans of the house
of Marcus Lycus, and she has been sold to the celebrated war hero, Miles
Gloriosus, who is coming soon to collect his bride. With the help of Hysterium,
Pseudolus must find a way to win Philia's freedom so he can also win his own.
The lusty Senex, his suspicious wife Domina, and the confused Erronius further
complicate Pseudolus' quest.
The cast includes Ben Schaad, a junior majoring in Finance, as Pseudolus.
Joey Malagisi plays the part of Hero. Philia is played by freshman Samantha
Gearhart who is a major in Graphic Design. The part of Hysterium is played
by freshman Jeff Fleshman, an English major.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is ODU's first musical
to be presented in nearly twenty years, and it promises to be an entertaining
one. Students from the music department of The Ohio State University will be
serving as the accompanying orchestra. Meg Mateer will direct with Derrick
Szarmach, Shawna Pope, and James Adair serving as stage managers.
