Ohio Dominican Presents Vatican Correspondent John Allen

COLUMBUS, OH – Ohio Dominican University’s Center for Dominican Studies will present “The Church and Society: A View from the Vatican” featuring the National Catholic Reporter’s prize-winning Vatican Correspondent John Allen, Jr. on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Matesich Theater on ODU’s main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road.

In addition to his responsibilities as the correspondent to the Vatican, Allen also works as a Vatican analyst for CNN and NPR. His weekly Internet column, The World from Rome, is widely considered the best source of insight into Vatican affairs in the English language. He also contributes regularly to the FOX News channel.

Allen’s work has been published in The Tablet, Jesus, Second Opinion, The Nation, The Miami Herlad, Die Furche and The Irish Examiner. He is the author of several books, including; Pope Benedict XVI: A Biography of Joseph Ratzinger, All the Pope's Men: The Inside Story of How the Vatican Really Thinks, Opus Dei: An Objective Look Behind the Myths and Reality of the Most Controversial Force in the Catholic Church, The Vatican’s Enforcer of the Faith and Conclave: The Politics, Personalities and Process of the Next Papal Election. Allen is a graduate of the University of Kansas. He has a master’s degree in Religious Studies.
