ODU Presidential Lecture Series Presents Political Analyst William Kristol

COLUMBUS, OH – Political analyst and commentator William Kristol, editor of the influential Washington-based political magazine The Weekly Standard, will speak at Ohio Dominican University as part of the University’s Presidential Lecture Series. Kristol will appear on February 22, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Matesich Theatre in Erskine Hall on ODU’s main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road.
Kristol, co-author of The New York Times bestseller The War Over Iraq, served as Chief of Staff to Education Secretary William J. Bennett during the Reagan Administration and then as Chief of Staff to Vice President Dan Quayle under the first President Bush. He has taught politics at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Leading the Project for the Republican Future, a conservative think tank, Kristol aided in the 1994 Republican Congressional victory. He regularly appears on Fox News Sunday and Fox News Channel. Kristol received a Ph.D in Political Science from Harvard University.
Ohio Dominican University’s Presidential Lecture Series highlights the university’s commitment to the arts, education and politics and underscores the Ohio Dominican motto, “To contemplate truth and share with others the fruits of this contemplation.”

Kristol’s appearance at Ohio Dominican University will be the second of the 2006-07 Presidential Lecture Series season, which in past years has included author Amy Tan, NPR Fresh Air host Terry Gross, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwrights Edward Albee and Tony Kushner, educational psychologist Howard Gardner, best-selling author Frances Mayes, Poet Laureate Billy Collins, and Pulitzer Prize-winning syndicated columnist Ellen Goodman.
