Schoen Appointed Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies

COLUMBUS, OH – Dr. Linda Gail Schoen has been appointed to the position of Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies for Ohio Dominican University.
Schoen most recently served as assistant executive dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University. Prior to that time, she served as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Psychology; as assistant dean in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences; and as program coordinator of the Undergraduate Advising Office in the Department of Psychology.
Schoen also was an associate professor and chair of the Psychology Department at the Pontifical College Josephinum; and a lecturer and assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.
Schoen holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, all from The Ohio State University. She also completed studies at the The Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration at Bryn Mawr, and the Spiritual Guidance Program at The Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation.
In her new role for the university, Schoen provides leadership for six master’s degree programs, and the university’s growing graduate student population. (Ohio Dominican currently offers the following graduate degree programs: MBA, MSM, M.Ed., MA in Liberal Studies, MA in Theology, and MA in TESOL.) In addition, she administers adult degree and completion programs, online learning, and other nontraditional and extended educational offerings and initiatives.
Schoen is a resident of Upper Arlington, Ohio.
