Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a great way for students to gain exposure to the profession of public relations while still in college. Founded more than 20 years ago by its national parent organization, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), all PRSSA chapters aim to:
Serve student members by enhancing their knowledge of public relations and providing access to professional development opportunities, including:
- visits to local public relations agencies,
- access to internships, and
- opportunities to lead others while working on real-life public relations projects.
Founded in 2007, the ODU Chapter meets once or twice per month throughout the school year. Meetings are fun, informative and a great way to meet other students and network with working PR professionals.
The PRSSA chapter invites guest speakers from the central Ohio professional PR community and often visits local PR agencies, corporations, graphic design firms, printers, and more, to get a behind-the-scenes look at public relations today!
Both on-campus and off-campus PR projects are tackled by the PRSSA chapter. Student members enjoy the chance to develop tangible skills that they can later showcase for future employers.
Any student interested in a career in public relations can join. PRSSA chapter membership is open to all students. Although many PRSSA members are Public Relations majors or minors, many students come from marketing, communications, graphic design, English, humanities and more!
