Sister Patricia Ann Connick, O.P. earned her Bachelor of Art Degree in chemistry and mathematics from Ohio Dominican University, and her Master of Science Degree from University of Illinois, in chemistry with an emphasis in physical chemistry. She earned her Ph.D. from University of Notre Dame, with research in the field of porphyrins.
Sr. Connick has accrued an abundance of teaching experience over the years at prestigious universities and colleges, including University of Notre Dame, Ohio Dominican University, and University of Illinois. She is interested in the use of computer technology to enhance laboratory experiences for her students, and has directed two national summer workshops for high school teachers through PASCO Scientific, a leading world-wide manufacturer of scientific interfaces for educational purposes. Sr. Connick enjoys making connections among the sciences and with subjects beyond the sciences and is particularly skilled at teaching problem solving to both major and non-major students.
She has received countless awards, and has published a variety of works. She plays the piano and guitar, and enjoys softball and bowling. She is currently a second-year novice with the community of St. Mary of the Springs, the sponsoring Dominican congregation of Ohio Dominican University headquartered in Columbus, OH. |
