Dr. Darlene Erickson, Professor of English, graduated with highest honors from Aquinas College, Western Michigan University, and Miami University where she was awarded her doctorate with distinction in all areas. She was elected a member of Phi Kappa Phi, a national graduate honor society. Dr. Erickson has recently been named the Master Teacher in Humanities for Ohio Dominican. Dr. Erickson is a frequent presenter at international conferences, having spoken in France, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Slovenia, England, Germany, Hungary, and the former Yugoslav Republic. She and her colleague Dr. Larry Cepek have presented at nineteen conferences in the United States on the use of technology to improve teaching and learning. Dr. Erickson is the author of a book published by the University of Alabama Press entitled: Illusion is More Precise than Precision: The Poetry of Marianne Moore. Dr. Erickson has also published a number of articles in professional journals. She was given the Conley Award for outstanding teaching in 1991. Dr. Erickson is a member of numerous professional associations and has served on task forces for the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges and for Burgess and Niple, an Architectural Firm where she has worked on classroom redesign. Dr. Erickson served as chair of the Division of English Chair for six years. |
