Ann C. Hall is a Professor of English in the Division of Literature and Languages. She teaches a wide variety of courses from freshman writing to senior seminar. Some of her favorites and more popular courses include Shakespeare and a Film and Literature class (themes include love, horror, and madness). She also teaches in the Liberal Studies Master's Program. She was the former Chair of the Division of Literature and Languages, co-director of the Honors Program, Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies, and Dean of Graduate Studies. Her new motto, "I was driven, but then I pulled over" has inspired her to work on her scholarly and creative writing. She is nearing completion of her book on Phantom of the Opera and a collaborative project, a play about yoga. She is also working on an essay on Howard Stern and another separate essay on the television drama, The Sopranos. She is happy to report that many of her English students find employment in teaching, business, the arts, graduate and professional schools, public service and politics, law, and other fields. The English major--it's not just for teachers anymore.
