Business Administration
At Ohio Dominican Universit , each Business major is based on a strong, innovative core curriculum that imparts the skills and knowledge needed to develop leadership qualities, professional competencies, technical understanding and communication abilities that create workforce-ready graduates or prepare students to continue studies toward advanced degrees, such as Ohio Dominican's Master of Arts in Business Administration (MBA).
The major in Business Administration is designed to provide students a breadth of business knowledge in a wide variety of functional business areas. In fact, the curriculum provides a core set of courses covering virtually all functional areas of business. Additionally, the curriculum helps students develop critical workplace and life skills in the areas of critical thinking, presentation, writing, team, technology, and interpersonal communication. Finally, when integrated with the Ohio Dominican University liberal arts core curriculum, students develop a greater sensitivity to the possibilities and limitations of the human condition and refine their capacity to make informed and ethical decisions.
In addition to a broad general business and liberal arts education, students will further select an “Emphasis” in either Management or Marketing.
More than 90% of ODU Business students participate in internship placements in Columbus-based businesses, industries, nonprofit organizations and government offices. Our graduates are employed by a large and diverse group of organizations. Some hold leadership positions in established organizations, while others have shared their dream and founded new, entrepreneurial organizations and ventures.
Some ODU students will qualify for our4+1 programwhere they can earn both their bachelor’s degree and their MBA in five academic years.
