ODU's B.A. in Campus & Youth Ministry prepares graduates for ministry careers in parish, school, and/or community-based settings.
Graduates of ODU’s Campus & Youth Ministry program are able to:
  • Write competently in the forms appropriate for theological discourse.
  • Identify the stages of emotional and intellectual development during adolescence and young adulthood.
  • Identify and explain the important theological concepts in the Catholic Tradition in ways appropriate to the stages of development for adolescents and young adults.
  • Identify the elements of the code of ethics for youth ministry leaders.
  • Discuss the application of Biblical themes to contemporary situations that adolescents and young adults may encounter.
  • Apply the principles of Biblical Theology to the development of the spiritual lives of adolescents and young adults.
  • Design programs that promote the cardinal and theological virtues in the behavior of adolescents and young adults.
Graduates are prepared for a variety of careers, including:
  • Campus Ministry office at a Catholic College
  • Campus Ministry office at a Catholic High School
  • Director of Religious Education at a Catholic High School
  • Director of Religious Education at a Catholic Parish
  • Youth Ministry at a Catholic Parish
