I first learned of ODU through my cheerleading coach at Westland High School. She was an ODU grad, so when teaching us new cheers, she would use the Panthers as the example.

I chose Columbus State to begin my studies. I knew it was a great way to complete a lot of general education requirements I would need later. I also knew after Columbus State, I wanted a school to have small class sizes and personal attention from professors. From what I had seen and heard about Ohio Dominican, it sounded just about perfect for me so I applied.

Within two weeks, I had an acceptance letter and an invitation to visit campus. From the first time I stepped foot on campus, I knew ODU was the right place for me. My Admission Counselor at ODU explained the transfer process and gave me all the information I needed - even a contact list of professors and staff who could help me should I have any follow-up questions. Because of the information and detailed advice I received from both Columbus State and Ohio Dominican, I now only have 2 years at ODU complete the requirements of my Public Relations degree.

A piece of advice before you transfer....be sure to work closely with your advisor at your current school and at ODU. By staying connected to your advisors, you are assured that you are taking relevant classes that will count towards your degree requirements or that will help prepare you for your higher level coursework.

Whenever I hear someone who is looking for a college or university or is looking to transfer, I always share my great experiences at ODU with them. I continue to be so impressed by the level of support that I'm given by professors and administrators at ODU. I was relieved to find out that not only did I get a lot of attention when I was first looking at ODU, but that attention and support has continued during my time here. The staff at ODU are truly committed to my success. I am definitely NOT treated like a number, I am treated as a very special part of the ODU community.
