Alumni Spotlight

Meet Brian Ford, MBA ‘06

Brian Ford earned his MBA from Ohio Dominican University in 2006 through the LEAD program.  For the past 18 years, Brian has enjoyed a successful career with State Farm Insurance in various roles as an underwriter, underwriting and claims manager and more recently as the emerging markets coordinator, responsible for developing and implementing marketing programs directed at African American, Hispanic and Asian markets for Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky. Currently Brian is the auto insurance operations manager for those states, based out of the firm’s Newark, OH office.

Brian’s community service and leadership has been recognized with numerous awards. He is the current board president of the East Mound Community Development Corporation in Newark and the Ohio Business Week Foundation in Columbus.

Brian’s greatest accomplish-ment is his family. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Kim, for 16 years. They are the proud parents of Christopher, 12, and Alayna, 8.

From Your Alumni Office
Thank you for talking with our students who are calling all alumni during our annual Fall Phonathon, and for supporting their efforts. These wonderful young people are fantastic reflections of Ohio Dominican University. They, and we, rely on alumni participation to provide the services, technology and materials our students and faculty need and deserve. Your support of any amount adds up to make a difference in literally thousands of lives, so on their behalf, thank you.

And an enormous thank you to our faculty and staff, who have responded to this year’s campaign because they believe in and support our students. If you want to be inspired to donate, check out our 2007 Faculty & Staff Honor Roll of Donors:

The fence is up and “the big dig” has begun on our new (the fifth) residence hall, which is scheduled for occupancy in Fall 2008. The dorm will house 152 students in suites designed to meet student needs and preferences. Construction on our much-anticipated Bishop James A. Griffin Student Center is set to begin in March. Check out the details, complete with renderings and a 3-D animation of the interior on our website at:

http://www.ohiodominican.edu/studentcenter/default.asp

These busy days on campus have been opportunities to ponder yet again what wonderful people are part of our Ohio Dominican family. We hope that you will join them, your classmates, friends, current and former faculty and fantastic students for YOUR great 2007 Homecoming Celebration!  Details are listed on our Homecoming webpage, http://www.ohiodominican.edu/alumni/HomeComingActivities.asp where you can see the roster of attendees and register for any of the activities.

We’re all out of hyper-links, so it must be time to say good-bye for now. We do hope to see you at Homecoming, and if that isn’t possible, let us know how you are and what you are doing.

With warm good wishes,

Sue  & Tammy
