Millie A. Armstrong Drake

Millie A. Armstrong graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Dominican College (now Ohio Dominican University). She majored in Spanish literature and minored in French. Her postgraduate studies were at The Ohio State University, where she studied linguistics. She taught for several years and worked as a private investigator while living in Columbus, Ohio.

Millie moved to Ithaca, New York where she participated in management training at Cornell University's Institute for Administrators of Nursing Homes and Health Related Facilities. This training opened the door for her to work in the field of gerontology, a field she stayed in for 10 years. She held positions that included the Assistant Administrator and the Director of Activities at the Ithacare Center in Ithaca, and as the Executive Director of Lake Howard Heights in Central Florida. While in the field of gerontology, Armstrong served on many civic boards and committees and was appointed by the Governor of Florida as a State Delegate to the 1981 White House Conference on Aging.

After 25 years of living in the United States, Armstrong returned to her native home of Puerto Rico and made a career change to the field of sales and marketing. In this profession, Armstrong worked at resorts and hotels across the island. Armstrong lives with her husband, Juan, and they enjoy experiencing different cultures while traveling to various countries.
