Ann DeCain Blackham
Ann DeCain Blackham graduated from the College of St. Mary of the Springs (now Ohio Dominican University) in 1949 with a major in English and a minor in art. She is the founder and president of Ann Blackham & Co. Inc. of Winchester, and Chairman of the Mass. Board of Registration of Real Estate Brokers & Salesmen. She has participated in local, state and national political initiatives. In the late 1960's she organized a pilot childcare program in the U.S. Department of Labor and also ran for the Senate in her state.
She has served on a Presidential task force for women's rights and responsibilities and co-authored a government pamphlet. She was the first chairperson of the Governor's commission on the status of women and was involved in the successful passage of the equal credit and equal rights amendments in her state. Ann has stayed involved with campus activities over the years and represented Ohio Dominican at the 75th Anniversary Academic Convocation of Emmanuel College. She currently serves on Ohio Dominican's Board of Visitors.
