Douglas Carpenter

Douglas Carpenter, Ph.D., graduated in 1973 from Ohio Dominican with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He later earned his master's degree in Educational Administration from Xavier University in 1978, his Educational Specialist degree from the University of Dayton in 1984, and his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from The Ohio State University in 1990.

He started his career as a social studies teacher at the junior and senior high school levels. Later, he advanced to become an elementary and junior high principal in Plain City, Ohio. Dr. Carpenter has held dual positions on two separate occasions during his career at Jonathan Alder Schools, first as principal and head coach, and later as superintendent and head coach.

Dr. Carpenter is involved in numerous activities outside of his immediate duties as superintendent, including: president of the School Study Council of Ohio; The Buckeye Association of School Administrators; the American Association of School Administrators; and charter member of the Plain City Optimist Club.
