Thomas Finnegan

A 20+ year Army retiree, a Columbus resident at the time, and now an accomplished actor, Tom Finnegan graduated with Ohio Dominican's class of 1979 earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in General Studies.

While attending Ohio Dominican as an adult student, he directed the City of Columbus Employee Counseling Program, and after graduation was hired to administer a similar program for the Defense Construction Supply Center.

Tom began his acting career at Ohio Dominican appearing in The Sound of Music, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Hogan's Goat. He also appeared in local productions at Players Theatre including the world premier of Rainbow Dancing, and in Damn Yankees and Anastasia.

In 1980 he relocated to Los Angeles, California, to pursue an acting career. He has appeared in films such as Hoffa, Ghost, Die Hard 2, Repo Man, and in numerous TV series including Charmed and Reasonable Doubts. Tom's 1992 Federal Express commercial was selected as the best commercial of the year by Entertainment Weekly.

As a playwright, his play, Soljers, was produced in Los Angeles, and won Drama-Logue Theatre Awards for Outstanding Writing, Production, Directing and Acting, and an Excellence in Theatre Award nomination from the NAACP.

In 1995 Tom became the first Ohio Dominican graduate to be inducted into the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges Hall of Fame.
