Sister Colleen Gallagher
Sister Colleen Gallagher graduated in 1953 from St. Mary of the Springs (now Ohio Dominican University) with a bachelor's degree in Art and a minor in English. In addition, she received her Master's degree in Education from DePaul.
Since graduation she has been a teacher, a principal, a Diocesan School Supervisor; has served as Vice President for Mission Development for Mt. Carmel Health Services in Columbus. Prior to this she held the same position for the Franciscan Health System working out of St. Anthony Medical Center. She has served as chaplain at two hospitals and was a pastoral Associate at St. Matthias in Columbus. Sister Colleen was a teacher of English as a Second Language and Scripture in Puerto Rico. She has been active in the provision of services to AIDS patients and was a member of the Interfaith Ministry Committee for AIDS in the Metropolitan Area Church Board. She is currently serving the Dominican Sisters of Saint Mary of the Springs as Promoter of the Arts, and will celebrate 50 years as a Dominican during her Golden Jubilee in 2004.
