Double Dominicans

Imagine yourself in the grassy area between the Spangler Library and Hamilton Hall
in the early spring of 1980. It was here Lisa Lugar Salerno '80 played cupid by
introducing Bernie Deeg '80 and Carol Klein '81.
Carol remembers, "What first drew me to Bernie was that I was taking a German
class and Bernie was tutoring German."
Looking back on their time at Ohio Dominican , Bernie and Carol are very fond of the
time that they spent together in the Rathskellar with bagels and cream cheese.
"We both really enjoyed attending Ohio Dominican. It was a more personable
college than a large institution", Carol says."We both had wanted to attend
a small college with a more personal environment and good education. We liked the
'family-type' feeling that Ohio Dominican has."
A couple of years after graduation, the couple married. They have two children;
Gretchen and Konrad.
