Double Dominicans
Many Double Dominicans meet during their time as students at Ohio Dominican. Others
meet after graduation, but eventually find that their Dominican connection is a spirit
that all alumni of Ohio Dominican share.
In December 1997, Mark Weiner '94 called the Alumni Director Christie Flood '90 to get
information about classmates for an issue of SCENE. During the course of the conversation,
Christie was struck with Mark's enthusiasm about Ohio Dominican and his memories as a
student at Ohio Dominican. A few days later Christie called Mark back to see if he might
like to get together sometime for dinner and to talk about his experiences at Ohio Dominican
and to get to know a fellow alum better.
When they met for dinner, it ended up lasting three hours. In the course of
conversation, it was obvious this was not a typical alum visit for Christie. Later it
would be admitted that Mark and Christie both told their parents that they felt they had
met the spouse they would eventually marry.
Less than two years after their first meeting, they married, on October 9, 1999. They
had their daughter, Faith Marie Weiner.
