About Our Gift
Part 1: Memorial Tree Plaque
Funds raised for our 2008 class gift will be used to purchase a 19” x 19.5” memorial plaque in honor of our fellow classmates, faculty, and staff who unfortunately are no longer with us. The tree will include the names of all our deceased classmates and all faculty and staff who have passed away during our years at ODU. This will be the start of a tradition as other classes in the future will make additions to the plaque.
Part 2: Contribution to the 2008 Class Fund
Any remaining funds from the plaque will be a 2008 class donation to the annual fund from the class. Every ODU student is a direct benefactor of the funds raised through the annual fund. What a great way to give back than by paying forward. The amount raised by the class of 2008 will be recognized at our commencement. Part 3: Recognition Letters
To make our gift more personable, all donated pledges may be in honor of a certain individual who has touched our lives and made our education possible. At the time of your contribution, we hope that you will take a few moments to honor a special someone who has helped make your education a success. After making a contribution, you will receive an information card where you can write a special thank you note to the person of your choice. An honorary letter will be sent to this individual on official ODU letterhead. This letter will include the short message you wish to send. Your name and the honoree recipient’s name will also be featured on our Senior Class Gift webpage. Whether it be a parent, guardian, sibling, professor, boyfriend, girlfriend, aunt or uncle, show them how much they mean to you by donating a gift in their honor.
