Hey guys I'm on this black student leadership study trip, with the alliance trip with the other small schools in the central Ohio area which are Otterbein, Kenyon college, Ohio Wesleyan, Denison university, capital university. I feel as if this trip has really made me look at my life experiences and really learn to appreciate them. There have been so many things that I have learned on this trip; such as learning more about some historically black colleges and universities; such as Tennessee State university, Fisk university, and Meharry Medical college. These places of education where rich in tradition and had very well know alumni such as oprah winfery and w.e.b. Du bois. This is the first day on my trip and I will give you guys another update when I get to Memphis tomorrow.
Sup guys on the second day of the study trip we traveled to Memphis, Tennessee. This was a great day of information and excitement, we visited the civil rights museum which was the placed that Dr. Martin Luther king Jr. Was assassinated by James earl ray this place was very emotional for me because it really but into prospective on how far minorities in America have come and how far they still need to go. We also traveled around the city of Memphis and learned about there famous beale street which was where black's in the 50's 60's and 70 's made some of the greatest musical contributions to America. We also visited slave haven which was a former "safe place" for runaway slave during the slave period in America. I feel very fortunate to be able to go onto this trip I learned this that I probably would have never had the chance to if not for this trip. If you guys do decide to come to Ohio Dominican I encourage you to look into the trip, it was and experience that I will never forget.
Whats good
Hey guys good news I don't think that my knee is hurt to the point that
I need surgery; hopefully I can be running and jumping in a week or so.
Other than that just been relaxing and enjoying spring break, looking
for my midterms grades to come out, I'm kind of anxious to find out
what they are but I'm not worried at all, I stay on top of my grades but
its still very nerve racking. But I am senior so I know that I will pull through this I have done it before and I will do it again
Well I got my grades back and there not to bad I got 2 a's and a b plus
so not to shabby. But I have just been trying to enjoy my break the best
I can and just trying to get my knee back to full strength, my deepest
fear is that I will need surgery and I hope that that is not the case
because knee's are hard to recover from. Over this break I also did some
community service I think that it is so important for all of us
fortunate to go to college to give back to the community because there
is always someone who needs a helping hand and you as college students
can provide companionship to an elderly person or be a mentor to a small
child.
Hey Guys and Gals How’s it goin ???
Sup guys just enjoying my spring break back in Cleveland, I am in a
party promotion company and I had a party to attend and I had so much
fun, I got to spend time with my mother and my brother who goes to Ohio
university, they were great but as you get older. I hate coming back
from midterm break though because you’re in a funk for a whole week and you really don't want to do anything when you get back, but then its
crunch
time because the grades are starting to finalize. My goal for this
semester was to get a 4.0 and I really think that I have a chance; I'm
doing fairly well in my classes so when the midterm grades come back ill
let you know.
O yea another goal I had was to stop playing so much NFL Madden, I am
addicted to the game but as long as it does not affect my school work I
guess I shouldn’t mind huh?
Talk about bad luck I just got home to Cleveland for break and I decided
to work out and play basketball and I tweak my knee real bad. The
problem was that it was the same knee that I have already torn the acl
in so pray for me guys that its nothing serious and that I'm out for
only a week or so, I'm going to church and pray about it so I got my
fingers crossed.

WOW!
I am still here working my butt off at ODU. Christmas break was truly awesome and I had a great time catching up with all of my friends. My friends said to be warned that my friends would be very different. Maybe it's just because my friends are so cool, but they are unchanged. They're still the same group of guys and gals from high school that I spent every day with. I did a lot of nothing but watch TV and had a really good time. Coming back to ODU was very hard. Especially because I was so used to doing nothing at all back home but o well its college
Every end of the month is very busy for any college student, but this week was particularly busy for me. I had tests for all my classes, internships and a paper due. Yep, life in college is not all about the fun, the hanging out with friends and stuff, it now and then gets serious too.....
I don’t think I gave you guys my schedule yet I take 3 sports management classes, Sports seminar, sports marketing, and internship and one business class; which is non- profit management because I am trying to get into the schools four plus one program which allows students to get into masters courses during the undergrad years and in 5 years total you will have your masters.
