Roman Holiday, McCain Speech

This past week I watched the old black and white movie Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn on TCM. Not only am I a big fan of old black and white movies, but this movie was filmed completely on location in Rome. So it reminded me a lot of living over there. They showed the famous locations, which was cool and all, but what I really liked were the streets that I recognized that aren't especially well known. One scene in particular showed a street where there's an Irish pub that my friends and I used to go to on the weekends. On the downside, though, it made me miss Rome. For all the difficulties of not knowing the language, I'd love to go back. It's hard to describe how different the culture is over there. You know how certian cities in America have a unique feel? Well, multiple that by about ten in Rome. It's just such a relaxed way of living. Anyway, check out the movie. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Also, I'm going to see John McCain give a speech this Tuesday night in downtown Columbus. I'm pretty pumped about it. One of my friends that I graduated high school with is coming down from Cleveland. He's not too big of a McCain fan, but if I were to vote for a republican, McCain would probably be it. Then again I'm still not really sure who I am going to vote for yet. Right now, it's probably a toss up between Obama and McCain. Ironically, that might be the general election race. The only thing about going is that I just happen to have a windfall of homework. So i'm rushing to get all that done before Tues. night. I'll tell you what I think about his speech next time.

So check in next week, Constant Reader. And, as Gregory Peck says in response to Audrey Hepburn not knowing how to say goodbye:

 "Don't even try."
