Spring Break Part II: Home
I flew home from Florida last Thursday night. I had a belated birthday party at my house with my family since I didn't have a chance before Spring Break. It was pretty small and laid back. I got a few gifts but mostly money. Then Saturday my mom and I went up to Pittsburgh so I could buy a few books from Barnes and Nobles. I picked up:
- The Corrections - Jonathan Franzen
- Rabbit is Rich & Rabbit at Rest - John Updike
- The Crying of Lot 49 - Thomas Pynchon
Which reminds me, Rabbit Redux by Updike (the book I told you I'd be reading a few blogs ago) was really good. I'd recommend Updike, and especially the Rabbit novels, to anyone. Easter went well, too. I love eating down my grandmother's on holidays. She made city chicken (which I called "meet on a stick" as a child) and it was delicious!
Other than that, I just got back and unpacked my suitecase here in my dorm room. This week it's back to the grindstone. I have to finish reading the Red Badge of Courage by Wednesday, catch up on my poetry readings for Thursday, and write a paper on Herman Melville by Monday.
As fun as Spring Break was, it's over now.
So, in the words of Peter Pan (Disney Inc. all rights reserved, Don't forget! lol):
"Goodbye Neverland."
