Spring Break Part I: Orlando & Fort Lauderdale
I finished midterms and got to the airport without hitch. You'll breathe easier now, I'm sure. The flight down was nice and we arrived in Orlando on Thursday (March 13th) night. The next day we checked out Disney land and Epcot ("we" being my sister, brother in law and two year old niece). Disney was cool, space Mt. is an awsome roller coaster, but Epcot was my favorite. They had these little country exhibits with restaurants, gift shops and actual people from the different countries. So of course I had to check out Italy. I said a few things in a Italian to this one lady and she started speaking rapid Italian out of nowhere. I had no idea what she was saying so I just nodded and smiled. One afternoon we attended a Disney character dinner where my niece Mia met Goofy and Minny Mouse and Chip & Dale. It was hilarious because she'd say she wasn't scared until they came close, then she'd flip out and me or my sister would have to get the character's "autograph" for her. Oh, and I have to mention how cool the Pirates of the Caribbean is at Disney now that they've updated it and incorporated Johnny Depp's character Cpt. Jack Sparrow. Check it out if you go.
Sunday afternoon we drove four hours down to Ft. Lauderdale to visit my grandmother. This was probably my favorite part of vacation--relaxation! I went jogging along the beach in the morning then layed either in the sand or by the pool reading all day. One night for dinner we ate at this really nice seafood restaurant. Oh, and get this. One day at the beach I went to a bar by the beach w/ my brother in law and forgot my I.D. A week after my 21st birthday and I forget it. Oh well.
The last thing we did last week was drive over to my Uncle Mike's place near Lauderdale beach. We had a great time, drank some wine, listened to a lot of Jazz, and he let me borrow his Miles Davis autobiography, which I can't wait to read.
Well that's part I of my Spring Break. Check out the next post for Part II.
