New Stuff
So I'd like to give a small piece of advice if I may to all of the potential college students that are wondering how they are going to pay for college.
Number 1: get a job
Number 2: get a job
Number 3: take loans out if you must but by all means, if it can be avoided at all, if there is any possible way you can do it on your own....DO IT!
Think about how much interest you can avoid paying if you just pay as you go because you have a decent job while you're in school. When I think about how much I am going to have to pay after I graduate it makes me weak in the knees. I do have a job right now but for the first year I didn't and I racked up some debt. Even after getting a job I will still need some assistance in paying tuition. So...do not hesitate to work work and work some more while you're in college. You will thank yourself for not screwing yourself over in loan repayments.
Another thing you have to be careful of though when you have a job in college is devoting yourself to work more than school. Right now I have a dilema at my job. They like me there which is great! But they like me so much they want me there every single day of the week. I just looked at my schedule for the upcoming week and I have a shift every day and on two of those days I work a double. Let me tell you that is rough!!! So I have to make sacrifices, mostly to sleep time to be able to stay on top of my homework. So the thing I have learned I need to do is be proactive and assertive and let my boss know that I can't work that much and still maintain A's in school. The money is nice don't get me wrong but...if I only wanted money why would I be going to school? I might as well just work and forget about school. Doesn't make any sense to me. Think about it.
