Under the Weather

I wonder where that phrase comes from anyways...but that's how I'm feeling today.  I gave in and went to the doctor's this afternoon after my brother went this morning and had to get a prescription.  Good news is I don't think we have the same thing so I'm not as sick as he is.  I keep blaming feeling crappy on how looong and exhausting last week was.   Besides I can't be sick now--it's finals week.

I didn't have any finals today though, so I caught up on some desperately needed sleep.  Only one more paper to turn-in and one more final and I'm done!  As of Wednesday afternoon I will be free of homework until mid-January!  Last week was nuts.  I had sooo much work to do, and I actually forgot about some assignments until the day before they were due so that was stressful.  I'm really glad it's over.  Even though this is finals week, I think it will be less stressful than last week. Weird stuff kept happening.  Wednesday:  After I got home, and was surprised how early I had finished my project that was due Thursday, I realized I had left the cd with my project on it in a computer at school.  When I drove back to school the building was already locked and I had to have security let me in.  Thursday:  I opened two drawers on a filing cabinet in admissions without thinking and the whole thing, with tons of folders, crashed to the floor.  I felt a little better about breaking it and making a mess when they told me it wasn't the first time this had happened and that we were supposed to be getting a new one.  Friday:  I didn't have class and was feeling like nothing could go wrong because I had made it to the end of the week...I was wrong.  I drove to the wrong side of town for a doctor's appt. and was late.  Fortunatly the doctor was really nice and understanding.  I went home and got ready for the Christmas party in admissions.  It was supposed to be the first year I'd actually be on time and not coming all smelly for soccer, but I missed about half of it because I locked myself out of my house.  I don't think I have locked myself out of a house since elementary school.  Everything was strange and sort-of funny (in a not funny ironic kind-of way), but it all worked out well in the end :)

We did have our Christmas tree delivered last week.  It arrived on Wednesday.  We didn't have time to bring it inside and put it on the stand until Friday.  It's a really nice tree, especially for being free--it's better than I expected.  Kara and I set it up but we still have to decorate it, and the rest of the house.  I'm excited we will get to hang lights outside this year because we got an electric outlet put-in outside of our house.  We bought some sweet garland for the tree too--shiny yet not too tacky.  I hung out in the dorms for awhile on Friday, and I saw so many people.  That is one thing I miss sometimes about dorm life--having people around all the time.  It was good to see everybody before they all leave this week to go home.  I'm getting ready to go pick out a tree with my parents now--hope everyone's finals are going well!
