Surgery :(

So I've had surgery before but I think this pre-op definitely ranks above all the others.  I was questioned by at least 5 people about my health history and other various things (if I smoke, drink, might be pregnant etc.)  Some new questions that I don't remember getting in the past were "do you have any sratches or bruises?" and "have you fallen down the stairs at home recently?"  Those caught me a little off-guard but not as much as when they asked me if I'd ever signed a living will and when I responded "no" they asked "would you like any information about them?"  I laughed--"I hope not..."  "ok, sign here".   Odd the procedures you go through just to have your knee checked out.

Everything turned out pretty well.  They found some plica that had, I guess, gotten behind my joint and they took it out so the doctor thinks, once I heal, I shouldn't have anymore problems.  I didn't get to talk to him afterwards but he told my parents that the tears that were there looked like they had healed.  So that's good.  I've used crutches a little bit this weekend--which with an uncoordinated person like myself is quite a task and I probably humorous to watch--but mostly I've just sat.  They gave me this sweet machine when I left, called an "Ice Man".  I get to keep it for a couple of weeks.  It pumps cold water around my knee and helps with the swelling. A nurse just called and said it'd be ok if I try driving to class tom. if my knee feels up to it.  I can't believe break is over!  My schedule is back to busy, busy, busy.  Or at least it seems that way, sitting here looking at it.   I'm working more at school this semester so that I can raise money for the soccer England trip.  I have a little saved from the golf course but a lot of that will go to books for this semester, and photo supplies.  I'm really psyched that I get to take photo again.  I haven't taken it since high school and I love it!  I just don't make enough time for it when I don't have it as a scheduled class.  It'll be good to see everyone that hasn't been in town too!  That's the best part of going back from breaks....that's enough about school--it can wait until tom.  NOW I'M GOING TO GO EAT ICE CREAM!  One of my friends from Maryland came back again for Drew's birthday and now he and Thomas came to visit me (and have ice cream)!   They know the way to my heart <3
