Interview w/ the old guy ...

Well, I think I figured out another reason why I was so sore.  I was sick :(  I decided to stop in the nurse's office at school on Monday after I got off work to get something for my headache---she took one look at me, asked if I was achey, and then took my temperature.  It was 100 (and rose throughout the day).  She gave me this neat little cold care package.  It had cough drops, tylenol, instant soup, tea, tissues, and disposable thermometers.

I felt alright ... until that night.  I don't think I slept for 2 hours in a row.  I woke up on Tuesday to my Dad calling me and saying he heard on the radio that our classes before 10 were cancelled because of snow.  Unfortunately, my first class is at 10.  I was totally bummed, but then my brother called me and said he heard all of our classes were cancelled.  Both of them were right.  We started off having a partial snow day and then they went ahead and cancelled the whole day.  Thank goodness!!!  I stayed in bed the ENTIRE day.  I don't remember the last time I was that sick.  I got called for an interview and they asked if I could come in on Thursday and I said, "Tomorrow?"  And the woman said, "No, Valentine's Day. Tomorrow is Wednesday."  hahaha I was soooo out of it.

I stayed home from school on Wednesday too.  After re-cooping for a couple days, I still looked like crap, but I at least felt a little better for my interview.  It was scheduled early so that I wouldn't be late for class, but then my interviewer was running late so I had to interview at the same time as another candidate.  The group interview made the situation both more relaxed and more intimidating.  We joked a little bit (which is always a good sign).  The two of us took turns answering questions, which gave me time to come up with answers, except a couple of times I knew what I wanted to say and then he said what I was thinking.  The other candidate was a lot older and had more experience than I did.  We were asked a question about life successes and he talked about building his own business from the ground up after passing the bar exam ... what?!  I couldn't have gone to law school even I wanted to by now!  I talked about school and soccer---apparently we both made good cases because we were asked back for another meeting the next day.  I'm not sure that is the type of work I want to do, but I got some good interview experience and I think I may have picked up a couple things from the other candidate too.

On Valentine's Day, even though I still wasn't feeling so hot, I went out.  It always makes me feel better to be around my friends :) and I wasn't about to sit home alone on Valentine's Day!  On Friday and Saturday I got to hear two different local bands.  Katherine took me to see an Irish band on Friday night--Amazing!  I never thought I'd be attracted to an accordion player ... now I am--haha  On Saturday I went to hear Love Sick Radio, the band from Grove City that sings "Boys Don't Matter".  I had a great time!  I love going to concerts and the entire weekend I only spent $12!  $14 if you include Valentine's Day--I've acquired this amazing ability to go out and still stay on a budget.  My parents think that's good since I'm still job hunting ... I might even have enough money to get my haircut this week for the first time since June!
