STOMP!

I had an AMAZING weekend--starting Thursday night since I don't have classes on Fridays this semester :D  I rushed home from class Thurs. night to get ready to go to STOMP.  My brother and I went to Spaghetti Warehouse with some of our good friends Katherine, Stephen, and Matt.  Then we all went to the show, which was at the Ohio Theater (also where I'll be graduating in about 40 days).  The theater is beautiful and the show was great.  The people that make up STOMP are so talented--I'm not really sure how to describe it ... people make music tapping, stomping around on/beating trashcans/street signs/brooms etc., ripping paper---basically using things you'd never think of using.  I saw a STOMP show years ago, but I had forgotten how cool it was; I just remembered that I had enjoyed it.  I recommend anyone that is interested in music or just in seeing something unique to check it out---BUT please if you go, do not take small children that will inevitably loose interest after 5 min. and stand on their chairs, talk, tick the old lady off behind them, who will in turn put her hands in the air and feverishly shift around, consequently disrupting my view from behind her. Yea, that was the only bad part of STOMP ... even my height couldn't save my view, plus, I didn't want to block the girls' views behind me that made purring noises every time they cheered.  My friends found that most annoying, but at least it didn't disrupt the actual show.  I found a reasonably comfortable way to sit after 1/2 an hour of shifting and the show was awesome, so all-in-all good time--despite the rugrats up front!

Me, Katherine, Stephen, Kyle w/ the stage behind us--you can make out a few things they used...

After STOMP I found out my friend Marci that graduated from ODU last year was in town and everyone was going out!  She got a great teaching job in Oregon and is getting her Masters.  One of my roommates from freshman year that I rarely get to see, Holly, and bunch of other friends from ODU turned up for the occassion!  So much fun in one night probably isn't good for any one person haha

Friday was a lazy day--I watched a couple Disney movies with Ashley and chilled out.  You're never too old for the classics!  And later I went to the Dollar movies too :)  Saturday, I tailgated for a couple of my friend Kara's OSU club lax games--she's the one I went to high school with that lived with me last year.  Also a great time--and they whomped on Everyone they played!  I got to see a bunch of people from home and friends from OSU that day and night :)  Sunday, I should've been productive but went to my parents and caught up on dvr'd shows instead...yea I was not one bit productive this weekend---well, maybe a bit---laundry and a few little boring things that aren't important enough to write about in between all the fun, but basically here I am Monday night--completely unmotivated, procrasinating like crazy, ready for more fun and desperately needing to do hw!  Time to get out of Spring Break/Senioritis mode!!!

Side notes: I did made it to soccer class Thursday and plan on going tom.  I had to go to Home Depot today to fill out some paperwork, and I start the web-training for the Garden dept. Wed.!  I have about 24 hours of web-training before I actually start working out in the dept. ... I was told that at some community colleges their Garden training counts as credits--this is going to be intense!  Hey, maybe my flowerbed will look nicer this year!
