smooth sailing!
Things are finally starting to settle down. Got some time this week to catch my breath after a busy last couple of weeks.
Good news, I was accepted as a pledge in Delta Sigma Pi! So, I’m excited to see what this fraternity has to offer and also what I can bring to it. From the very beginning, I know that our pledge class has to put on a professional event, a social event, and also a community service event.
As for my internship, I actually had to go out and drive the Sunny 95 Treat Truck for the first time this weekend. We take this truck to different community events around central Ohio and hand out free ice cream. For the next couple months, we have teamed up with Crush and are giving out free Orange and Grape Crush as well. So, for these months, our truck is also called the Orange Crush Cruiser. Pretty cool, I know! LOL But this truck is a little intimidating. It’s pretty much shaped like an ice cream truck, but a little bigger. So, imagine driving it…yea, that was fun. I had to drive on the freeway and it is so hard to merge because you don’t have any windows in back to look out of. Once, I got to the event, it flew by. I love working with kids and they were so excited to get some ice cream and to help out. They practically did my job for me! Overall, it was a good day, just a little scary driving the infamous Treat Truck.
So, after a month from the original “ground-breaking” of the new dorm, we have finally seen some progress: they put up the fence blocking off the parking lot. WOOOW! How exciting! LOL This is the most progress we have seen since they “broke ground” in late August. So, hopefully we’ll see more as the weeks go by.
I’m really excited for the 5k this weekend. I have always enjoyed running, but lately, I’m finding it more and more relaxing. In between class, homework, work, and my internship, I try to find time to run so I can just relieve all that stress. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Last night, my boyfriend Chris and I went out to dinner and a movie. I would definitely recommend going to the California Pizza Kitchen…DELICIOUS! After that, we saw Superbad. Pretty funny movie, I’m not going to lie! So that was a fun night!
Well, I’m off to watch the rest of the Buckeye game, have a good one guys! GO BUCKS!!
