Can you say hot? WOW! Supposed to hit 93 on Monday, craziness!
Completed the 5k in exactly 27 minutes, ranked 56 overall, and came in first in my age group (patting myself on the back! lol) WAHOO!! A lot of people showed up, around 200, so it was a good race! Definitely warm, I like running when it's a little cooler, but hey, can't complain.
This past week started my promotional events for Sunny 95. I go around to local business in Central Ohio with the Treat Truck and hand out ice cream and Orange Crush. Showed up to work yesterday and nothing was loaded so I had to rush to get everything loaded in order to make it to my first location on time...a little stressful!
We had our second official meeting for PRSSA at ODU. PRSSA stands for Public Relations Student Society of America. This is an organization open for Public Relations students as well as business students and is a good way to network and get to know the business. We had a meeting earlier on in the summer to actually begin the process of bringing PRSSA to ODU and this past week was just another meeting to start it up. We are in need of underclassmen....BAD. We have to have a total of 10 members to actually get started, but 80% of them have to be at the junior level or below. So, at the meeting, we brainstormed ways of recruiting not only more students, but mainly underclassmen. I was voted for the Secretary, so I am in charge of taking minutes (notes) at all the meetings as well as keeping everyone informed on what's going on. It's pretty exciting. I'm really looking foward to getting this underway because it is a great organization that students can benefit from.
As for this upcoming week...midterms...boo. The week before fall break is always filled with tests, papers, projects, etc. I have two midterms and one quiz, so definitely taking the time to study and prepare for those. After this week is over, we have fall break. After classes on Friday, we don't have class again 'til Wednesday, nice little break students, and well-deserved!
Halloween is soon and all my roommates have costumes...I guess I should start thinking about that soon. HAHA I'll let you know what I decide :)
Well, I think that covers it for this past week and upcoming week. Hope you guys have a great week! GO BUCKS AND TRIBE!! Definitely had tickets for Friday night's game...had to work. I WAS SO BUMMED!! My brothers and stepdad were sitting 5 rows behind homeplate...yea, super jealous.
