giving thanks
What a great weekend. Had class Monday and Tuesday morning, then 1pm Tuesday afternoon, Chris and I were off to Chesterton. Straight 5 hour drive door to door, and when we arrived, my break finally kicked in. Definitely got caught up on sleep from the last couple weeks of meetings and events; 4 naps on Wednesday alone...Chris thought something was wrong with me!
Throughout this Thanksgiving break, I have found that I have a lot to be thankful for.
...my family (each and every one of them is amazing)
...my career (so far)
...my friends (couldn't ask for better ones)
...my boyfriend (Chris has been nothing but amazing)
Finally getting a nice home-cooked meal was delicious! Ribs, Turkey/mashed potatoes/stuffing/etc, Pecan Pie, Eggs, Waffles, home-made pizza...mmm, so good!
The rest of my break consisted of traveling...and a lot of it! On Friday, we went out with Chris' mom for the day, traveling up to North-central Illinois, then making out way back down to Chesterton. Three malls in one day, the day after Thanksgiving...two words: crazy busy! I'm not a "Black Friday" shopper, actually try to stay away from the mall; however, for the last 4 years, I have found myself in a mall. Since 16, I was working in a mall here in Columbus at a TGI Friday's and every year, day after Thanksgiving, that was my home for that weekend. However, this year, I was on the other end of the stick. Chris and I walked around the malls and watched as people strolled by with bags and bags of gifts. That was definitely an experience within itself. When we got home after a 12 hour day, I went straight to bed.
Saturday was the day to remember this break. Chris and I took a train up to Chicago and walked around Michigan Avenue pretty much all day. The Magnificant Mile as they call it, and that it was. This was the first real time that I have been in Chicago and able to just walk around. We went in and out of stores and weaved in and out of crowds of people. The highlight of our day was going up to the 94th story of the John Hancock Building. This was awesome! Great view and a great experience.
Now it's back to class and meetings, not as much though. Nearing the end of the semester, finals are coming up and I'll begin studying for those. We have our initiation for Delta Sigma Pi next Saturday, so next time I'm here, I could be a Brother! Weird!
Well I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Take care and talk to you soon!
Take a look at some of the pictures I took over break!!

We stopped at a mall and found a Lego Santa!
