a month off!
WOW! I don't think I've ever been so relieved for a break from school. We have a five week break and that started for me on Tuesday afternoon. Since then I've been working, Christmas shopping, and working!
I've finally gotten time to start running again. So I've been running a lot since the start of my break and I hope to continue that since I won't have as many meetings as I did in the fall. It feels good to have a little bit of free time again. There was always homework to do, or meetings to attend, but now I can finally have time to myself and do things for me. I know that sounds really lame, but I can't even begin to tell you how good that feels because of how busy I've been.
This past weekend, I worked really long hours. Friday, three different jobs all day...9am-9pm. Saturday 10-8:30, and Sunday 12-7:30. Yeaa, been a long weekend and I'm glad I was indoors due to the storm. We got all this snow on Saturday, and I woke up Sunday morning with nothing on the ground! Sunday definitely gave us a little more, but I like the snow on the ground, not so much driving in it, but it's pretty!
Today, I started my new internship...and I LOVE IT! This internship gives me the opporunity to actually work on projects that have deadlines and need to be done to get to other clients. I really like it so far, even if it was my first day! So we'll see how it goes from here on out, but I'm pretty sure I'll gain great experience from this opportunity.
I received all my grades for my classes today...all A's! ROCK ON! I was really worried about my grades this semester because I took on a lot more and I started working a real job throughout the week. So, I was very pleased to see how it turned out!
I did receive one other thing this week though...an email about our new parking lot...that won't be up and running at the start of spring semester. SWEET. They said that due to weather conditions, they are not able to fill in the lot...so that means the parking situation will remain the same as this past semester. AND to make matters worse, they are closing down the faculty parking lot across the street as well to start building our new student center. I'm really frustrated with this because I have gotten two door dings (people opening up their doors into my car) since I have started this past semester and there is definitely not enough room for all the commuters and residents to park on campus. Not to mention the huge potholes in the parking lot as well. I just don't understand why they didn't start this project earlier. I mean December calls for colder weather and snow, they didn't think that we'd have that this year? Who knows...maybe I'm just bitter because of the dings in my car and having to walk through potholes on my way to class, but I'll definitely keep you updated on the parking situation!
Sooo, Christmas is in a week. I cannot believe how fast these last couple of months have gone! This time next year I'll be thinking about graduation and real jobs after school. But as Christmas gets closer, the closer I get to flying out to Chicago again! I'm flying out on December 28th through January 2nd to visit Chris and relax for a couple days. So I'm looking forward to not only the holiday, but also a couple days after the holiday too.
Tonight is Christmas with my roommates so we're heading to dinner and then exchanging gifts later, so I'm sure I'll have pictures for next week!
Well, that's all I have for now, I hope everyone did great on their finals and have a good week! Stay warm!
