HAPPY 2008!

Hi!  Wow, I can't believe it's 2008!  It has been three years since I have graduated high school and that is totally weird, but a very good thing.  I hope everyone had a GREAT holiday and a safe New Year!  I know a lot of my friends had New Year's Party's and whatnot, but for me, I was up in Valparaiso, Indiana with Chris.  We watched the Simpsons movie, well he did, I fell asleep, and then brang in the new year watching SportsCenter! LOL For the first year, I was not able to watch the ball drop and that was very strange!  I guess it slipped my mind that I'd be an hour behind everyone in Ohio as well as New York to watch the infamous ball drop at midnight.  So, it was a nice night in and I'm glad I got to spend it up in Indiana with Chris and his family.

As for my flight out there...BAD NEWS!  My flight was scheduled for fly out Friday night on December 28.  And if you don't recall, this is the day that Chicago got SLAMMED with snow!  So, I was checking my flight status constantly throughout the day, seeing that my flight took off at 7, I figured I'd be good, BUT that definitely wasn't the case.  So four hours later in the airport, I take off around 9ish.  After we take off, easy flight; less than an hour...no biggie.  But the landing was horrible.  They weren't lying when they said ice and snow on the runway.  And to make things worse, I waited over an hour at baggage claim with another 500 people to get my luggage.  It was so backed up due to the weather that they started just putting luggage on carousel without the flight numbers on the screen.  Well, in the end, we made it back home and definitely fell asleep right when I got there.

It was a nice little break from everything here.  We watched a ton of movies and shoveled the driveway because they got almost 8 inches of snow!  Now that I'm back in Columbus, back to work.  Started up both my internships again as well as SuperGames and today I'm going into Admissions to give a tour.

Last night was the National Championship game and lets just say, we weren't happy and I almost fell asleep in the 3rd quarter.  We made A TON of food thanks to my awesome roommate Meg!  She's italian and makes the best stomboli!  Let me list off what all we had because it was a TON!

-4 strombolis
-meatballs
-popcorn chicken
-chips and dip
-cheese dip that my other roommate Jenna made...DELICOUS!
-wings
-buckeyes
-brownies

QUITE a feast let me tell you and we were all stuffed even before the game started!  But that's all I'm going to say about the game, because it was quite embarrassing.

As for Christmas, got to spend some quality time with the family which was nice.  Don't really get to see them as much as I would like to because I'm so busy with work and school.  Got to see my niece, 17 months old and freaking adorable!  She LOVES my younger brother AJ.  That's the only name she knows of the aunts and uncles...I think it's because it's the easiest, but still VERY cute!  Got a lot of gift cards that I'm still in the process of spending.  Saw I am Legend...EXTREMELY scary!  I wanted to walk out I was so scared.  Then we ended the night with Battle of the Sexes and Catch Phrase with my step brothers and sisters.

I've been getting a lot of stuff done throughout this LONG winter break.  I finished my Delta Sigma Pi scholarship in order to go to the Provincial Conference in February to Buffalo...which I won!  I'm VERY excited!  One because I'll be able to get to know my Brother's better, two, to learn more about the fraternity, and three, because I've never been to Buffalo!  I'll let you know how that goes!  Another thing that I've started is my application for the Fahlgren Summer Internship.  Long process, but definitely glad I've gotten started on it.

WELL!  I think that's it for now!  Definitely had some making up to do!  School starts VERY soon, and I'll be going back before a lot of students because I'm taking a Saturday class that starts on the 19th.  We'll see how that goes...I'm not looking forward to it, but at least it's only half a semester.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK EVERYONE!
