back from buffalo to a snow day!

so the adventure started at 4am Friday morning.  I fell asleep for the first couple hours but woke up when we drove into PA and the girls and I jammed to oldies in the van all the way to New York.  The van situation ended up with all the girls (plus one boy) and the luggage in one van and all the other boys in the other van...glad I wasn't in there!  The ride up went well, but the ride back was horrible...I'll get to that one later!

When we arrived, it was really cold and really snowy.  We went to Fridays first for lunch then we were able to check into the hotel where they missed up our rooms, but gave us an extra room for free, so that was nice.  After that we all took naps because we were exhausted and then ate dinner and got ready for the social that night.  Saturday morning came quick and it was a full day.  8am-10pm of sessions and meetings.  It was a great day and I learned a lot and definitely took home a lot of great ideas not only from the sessions, but from other chapters as well.  It was really cool to meet other Brothers from around the country.  I met a lot of Mu Pi's from the Penn State chapter and we have a lot in common because they're losing a lot of their seniors as well, so we exchanged numbers and are going to be tossing ideas back and forth.  Our chapter president won the Regional Collegiate of the Year AND the Provincial Colligiate of the Year, two very prestigious awards and we are SO proud of her!  We also took home the award for traveling the farthest and also bringing the most Brothers!  So Omicron Tau gained a lot of respect this weekend!

On the way home was reallly bad.  Getting off the lake was the hardest part.  For about 4 hours we were tackling drifting snow and also the wind.  We left at 12 and didn't get home until 8:30, putting in one stop for lunch, but still a long day.  We were all VERY happy to be home.  Overall the trip was SO fun!  I got a lot closer with a lot of my Brothers and got to learn more about the fraternity itself.  We took home a lot of great ideas that we hope to use next year when everyone graduates.

Back to reality on Monday though...homework, classes, work, etc.  I was really stressed out because of all the work I figured I had to make up from missing two classes, one including my Saturday class that meets once a week, but wasn't too bad getting caught up.  In fact, what made it REALLY easy to get caught up was the SNOW DAY on Tuesday!  What a great way to wake up in the morning!  Spent the whole day getting homework and my application done.  Overall a successful day!

Valentine's Day is this week...what a silly holiday!  BUT Chris and I are going out to dinner to the Olive Garden and he got me tickets the the Angels and Airwaves concert at the end of the month so I'm super excited!  I love their music so I was definitely happy with my present:)

This week brings a lot of papers and homework.  Concluding the week is our meeting on Sunday where we vote on potential pledges for this semester.  Hopefully we can recruit a couple more before then.  We'll need them!

I hope everyone is staying safe in the snow, I know that the temperatures are supposed to drop and we're expecting more rain and snow, so BE SAFE!

Here's a couple pictures from this weekend!

Take care everyone!
