family comes first?
So last week was busy once again. Despite having yet another SNOW DAY, I found myself piled up with work and more work.
Worked another Breakfast Break which called for a 12 hour day, so it was fun getting more done before 9am then most people get done in a day, but it definitely took a toll on me this week. Catching up with homework, meetings, applications, friends, boyfriend, etc. It's a lot, and when people ask me how I do it, this time I found myself not saying, "I dunno, it just works out" rather, "It's a lot." Taking on more responsibilities at work and school means less time for the important things in my life. Including family...
I found out this week that my grand-father, that has been struggling with Alzheimer's since 1996, is declining fast. Chris opened up the text from my mom and I could tell from the expression on his face it wasn't good. After a horrible night, two days later, I find out he's been taking to the hospital (non-emergency), but he could get admitted. So, although I can't put my homework and internships on hold, I have to deal. This is the first time that I've had to deal with a family member slowly passing and it's hard. I'm just blessed to have a great family and set of friends that I can go to whenever this stuff comes around.
Last week, the founding members of PRSSA were honored at a PRSA Luncheon. It was a great experience to meet more PR professionals. In fact, I met three women from Fahlgren, the internship I'm applying for, and one was the lady who we send in our application to. So that was a great feeling get to meet face to face.
This weekend, Chris and I went to the Columbus Museum of Art, and I can definitely say that I haven't been there since elementary school. So, that was a fun afternoon with him, got to see a lot of really cool art and spend the day just relaxing.
This week is another busy week, and all I can say is 18 days...
Hope everyone has a good week, 'til next time.
Take care
