helllo florida!!
Well I'm blogging from the Sunshine State and loving every minute of it! We got in around 2am on Sunday morning and after 6 hours of sleep, woke up and supported the baseball boys down in Ormond Beach about 45 minutes away from where we're staying. They're now 9-1 and looking better than ever! Today we're heading to their next game and hopefully going to get to have time to hang out with them tonight after their game! Yesterday we went to both games and hit up the beach in between and definitely got A LOT of sun! lol It's a good thing today's game has an awning or I'd be in big trouble! It's gorgeous here though. Makes me want to move to Florida more and more. The first night we got here, we slept with the windows open and woke up to the birds chirping...I could get used to that! The rest of the week will be filled with baseball and beaches as we actually officially begin our Spring Break week!
Other than that, I received an email from Fahlgren saying that they'll email us by the end of the week letting us know if we get an interview or not, so I'm glad I'm down here in to keep my mind off that. (Keeping fingers crossed for Friday) It's definitely nerve racking considering I've wanted this internship for a good two years now, so I'm hoping that something good will come out of it:)
This past week was really hard...my grandfather passed away on Monday night after battling some of the hardest stages with Alzheimer's disease. So, from showings and meeting family that I haven't seen in years (I can't tell you the number of times I heard, I haven't seen you since you were about yeh high) to the funeral itself, it was a rough week. For those who don't know, my grandfather developed this disease back in 1996 and for the past 18 months he's been going downhill. So, in order to keep him from being put in a facility, my mother quit her job in order to be his permanent caregiver. So you can imagine how hard it was on her...and I think that's what hurt me the most was to see my mother so helpless. The funeral and Reverand Tussing who did the service was amazing. It was a celebration of life and nothing less. I heard of stories from my grandpa's whole life and it was so surreal how much he was involved in not only his work, but the work of others. He will definitely be missed and I'm glad he's in a better place and not hurting anymore. Rest in Peace, Grandpa.
Well I hope for those of you who are in school that are anticipating spring break enjoy their last week, and for those of you who are on spring break, enjoy and be safe!
Next week I'll still be blogging from Florida because we're not leaving until Monday morning, so Happy Easter and I'll be back with pictures! :)
Take care
