Hey Friends

Hope everyone’s enjoying the beautiful weather! I know I am. It has been so gorgeous lately. Things are starting to get so busy for me. I try to make sure that I get 8 hours of sleep each night because when I do not, it shows in my actions and performance. Well right now, that idea is out the window. Its college though. I did a report in health last semester and the average college student only gets around 5 to 6 hours of sleep a night. Around 40 percent of Americans are sleep-deprived.

Last week in ODU had a Holocaust speaker come in and lecture about his experiences during his childhood. He is 88 years old. He lost 37 members of his family and afterwards him and his brother Andrew had to change their last names.

Notes that I took:

Makes no difference of the color of face

Any mother who has given birth regardless of the race has experienced the same pain

You have no right to hate

A human being was not created to hate

Here to learn how to embrace each other

Kids in his town hated him because he was Jewish. He was six years old when he first experienced hate. They called him dirty Jew and kick and overpower him after church. They beat him physically and mentally. He wanted to tell them he was the same little guy that he was.

He had a special talent that he still uses to today to inform the world that hate does not work. Hate is a big circle. When you hate someone then they will hate someone and it heals nothing. The kids hated him even more because he made landscapes and sculptures. He made figures out of bread dough and he knew that he wanted to be an artist. Jew could not receive higher education at the time. He was also a gymnast but was kick out of a competition because he was Jewish. In 1937 he was drafted into the Hungarian Army. They were served one cup of coffee and a bowl of soup a day. Were forced to were the same clothing everyday even during battle.

At the age of 21 he was 75lbs. He once tried to sell one of his shirts for two potatoes and was hung by his arms.

He found beauty everywhere. He always knew god loved him and was taking care of him. He knew he would make it.

Jan 12 1943 to August 11 1947 he hated so much. In 1947 he realized that he will not hate. Justified to hate. If he killed an innocent child then that child would still hate. There is no satisfaction.

He came to speak to us to tell us that hate never works. Wanted to share how they tried to destroy him but failed.  He dedicated his life to the new generations just so he can share the importance of not hating.

I believe in my heart that his speech changed my life and the way I think.

Well the Justice Revival was amazing. All of Gods work is amazing. J it really gave me a whole new vision on how we need to reach out to the injustices of our communities.

Younglife is the best. Being able to commit and sacrifice a lot of time is my struggle and prayer request right now.  Time management. I loved being involved and doing by absolute best at serving the Lord but I have to get my priorities and time management skills together first. I already know the lord will take care of it and place me in the most excellent positions were my duties are needed the most at.

Have a fantastic week
