Really people, Christmas already??
Hola!
So I have an issue with society right now and I’m going to
just put this right out here in the open; did people forget about Thanksgiving
and skip right on to Christmas? I don’t know about you guys but I truly enjoy
Thanksgiving even if Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. I
appreciate all the grueling hours spent in the kitchen preparing the glorious
meal, only to last a grand total of twenty minutes because everyone was so
hungry that they all stuffed their faces and are about to go into a food comma.
Somehow they still expect the person that spent all that time in the kitchen to
clean up and then serve them dessert that they have somehow found room for.
Anyways back to my point, I have seen lights, wreaths, and trees up around
school for a few days now, Christmas music on the radio, and even commercials
on TV for the holiday. I even just saw a preview for a Christmas movie on TV;
people its not even Thanksgiving yet. Isn’t there an unwritten rule that you
aren’t allowed to get ready for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving? Now
what if we didn’t have Thanksgiving that would mean no turkey or tofurkey if
that’s what you like, no pilgrims, or Indians. I think our nation would be
lost.
Unfortunately the Buckeyes lost this weekend but fortunately
enough I was on the field to see it all happen. The poor Buckeyes lost to
Illinois and dropped to #7 in the BCS poll. Next weekend they take on Michigan,
I’m sure that game will be crazy and I’m glad that it is Michigan or Columbus
could get out of control.
On another football note, congrats to the ODU football team
for going undefeated in regular season play and becoming MFSA CHAMPS! Also
congratulations on your article in USA Today! Keep up the good work boys and
I’m sure you will go far in the off-season. Everyone make sure you come out to
their first play-off game EVER, game time is set for Saturday at home on
Panther field at 12:30. I know this cuts into the Michigan/Buckeye game but
come out and support your own school.
My mom brought home Boug this week and he is probably the
cutest dog I have seen in a long time. He kind of has a large head but I’m sure
that he will grow into that eventually. Our other dog Sam is deathly afraid of
him and doesn’t know what to think of the tiny pup. I’m sure she will warm up
to him. Well it might take awhile.
Well folks only 8 days till Thanksgiving Break officially
starts, I’m sure many of you are going home after classes on Tuesday.
Have a great week!!
