This weekend was very productive one. I caught up on all my readings and read ahead for next week. I wrote my two papers that are due this week and did about half of the one that is due next week. I still can't believe how much work I got done. Oh yeah, that's because I didn't do half of the homework I wanted to do. Oh well, I still have some time to do it.

So what did I do this week if I did not do homework, you ask??? Well where do I start??? Two of my flatmates stayed here for the break and we bonded over watching the first season of House. We put a mattress in the middle of the living room and spent an entire day watching the season. We took a break to have a BBQ and eat chocolate fondue.

On saturday, I went to the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary. It was only about a seven minute bus ride from my campus. It was such an amazing place. It was so close to the city, yet you could not see or hear it. I walked along the paths trying to see the different birds. It was hard to see the birds because the area is so big and of all the trees. It was a bit erie walking along the paths because you could hear the birds, but not see them. I did see two Kakas. I was watching them as they were eating from a bird feeder. I also went into an old gold mine. I thought it would be a maze of tunnels. It  turned out to be about a 20 feet, straight tunnel. It was still cool. There were five Wetas clinging to the walls of the cave. Wetas are like very big grasshoppers. I have mixed feelings about them. I am not a fan of bugs.

Easter was a very relaxing day full of stuffing my face. I went to church, then had a brunch with my flatmates and another flat. Later that day, I had an Easter dinner with three other girls from my program. One of the friends, Jen, made pavlova with whip cream and raspberries on top. It was all good except the whip cream part. My friend made butter instead of cream. I scrapped off the butter, but every now and then I got a bite of it. Ewwww. That is all I can say about it. The rest of the night was spent eating "Easter candy"  (just chocolate bars, no jelly beans, peeps, or chocolate shaped bunnies) and listening to KISS. There was a big concert in Wellington and I could hear some of the music in my flat.

Yup, so my weekend was very busy and productive, but not in a school related way. I really need to go hit the books now. Below is the web address for the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary if you want to check it out.
